Day 38: Drops of Tears and Sweat

In 90-plus weather I headed out to the Teardrop from my car parked on Avenue E and 45th St. Ordinarily, it would have been a beautiful day for such a walk but the temperature and hot asphalt made my steps laborious until I made it to the Teardrop, where my drops of sweat gave way to tears of remembrance. It sure made my steps seem oh so unimportant.

Heading back from whence I came, the time of remembrance gave way to thirst and exhaustion. As I rounded the turn on 40th St. , and over the bridge to Avenue E, my feet were burning and the dogs were barking loudly.

As Dorothy cried out in The Wizard of Oz, "there is no place like home." I first had to be satisfied with an air-conditioned car.!
